BC Inside passage

I am thinking of sailing my 28'' sailboat from Prince Rupert to Vancouver Island via the inside passage (transporting it home). I have very little sailing experience, is this something I should be considering or should I be looking for other options? What would be the main concerns/problems expected?

Tidal Currents, fog, shipping lanes, that being said it''s a voyage many dream of.

The best place to ask a question like this is on the Pacific Northwest group. You would be shock at the extent of local knowledge availible for the asking...
