Marinas
We purchased a Hunter 33.5 in the Florida Keys this past winter and then sailed across the Gulf to Mobile Bay. Along the way we had several pleasant experiences with marinas and one unpleasant one. We ended up at Turner Marine in Mobile Bay just south of Mobile, AL and needed to haul the boat and ship it by truck to Kentucky Lake. I had Turner take down the mast and put the boat on the truck. What a disappointment. The boat arrived in Kentucky without a boom. Turner is a sailboat marina but they forgot to put the boom on the truck.
My yard bill did arrive and I found that they charged me for several work items that they didn''t do. Moreover, the total charges were unreasonable for the work that Turner did do by any standard. If your cruises take you to Mobile Bay, you might want to remember about my experience with Turner Marine.
