I just raised $50K from the sale of some property I have so things are looking much better already. We will get the new gen set single side band and new sails and running rigging and a bottom job to start off.

60 days to get your boat ready, then how long to sail to the area in question? Where are you?

I personally donated a sum of money to Doctors Without Borders. I believe the organizations that know what they are doing, are already mobilized and have the resources to actually do good, is the way to go. Not some impulsive, poorly thought out knee jerk reaction, however well meant.

I suggest you contribute to an organization like the Red Cross, World Vision or some such. Probably you could do better for the people of the area if you sold your boat and gave the money...Thought of that??
