advice on passage to Cabo

My wife and I are contemplating a charter from Puerto Vallarta to Cabo San Lucas April 15-21. The Captain has been strait-forward in saying it will be uncomfortable but is only 300 miles. Now he has left Natal and won''t be in contact for a time. This leaves me wondering about how much of the cruise will be a hard-bash. We can handle the rough stuff for a few days but don''t want to be to dead for Cabo. Any advice even general opinions greatly appreciated.

you may be able to get an offshore land breeze if you travel at nite. that means the wind will temporarily be from the east and traveling north or south is a beam reach.I lived in california and sailed along the coast this way many times.the wind blowing from the land to the sea also tends to smooth out the sea condition.

starcresttoo, thanks for the quick reply. This is reasuring. I have wanted to check out Cabo for some time and would rather crawl out of the Cabo Wabo than in.
About how long might the passage take, not excactly but aprox.?
