Butane to Propane conversion

Would appreciate anybody providing advice in the following area. We have a French sailing vessel outfitted with a butane gas system (camping gaz). What must be done to convert to the American propane system? Is purchasing the adapter adequate or must I also change the regulator? Thanks.

I have an (Alubat) Ovni 345. What did you undertake when you converted your system?

Butane to Propane conversion

I simply got a brass adapter fitting to go from the existing butane solenoid to a new USA propane regulator through a propane hose and hooked it right up to a propane tank.
I also had used an adapter to go from the butane regulator to a propane tank but it was a clumsy setup and went to the above permenat setup.
it has been working fine for 2 years.
fair winds,
eric
