South Pacific in the off season

Hey, Just wondering if anyone here has spent time in the South Pacific during the Northern winter (Sept-March). I know this is Cyclone season down there but I also know that it's not like Hurricane season in the caribbean. I don't want a straight out "do" or "don't" answer about sailing in the off season. We wouldnt be sailors if we didn't make our own judgments. I just want to hear about people's experience and opinions regarding. Thanks in advance.
