CRUSING GUIDES/BAHAMAS-CARIBBEAN

Hi, We''ve just finished crusing from San Francisco to Florida and will be making a Bahamas and Caribbean Cruise in late fall. We''d appreciate recommendations for cruising guides to these areas. We''re a 58 Ft. cutter which draws 7.5 feet. We''re also new members and are happy to be here!

Besides the usual, Cruising Guide to the Bahamas including the Turks and Caicos, which you can find on Amazon.com and other places try "The Gentlemen''s Guide to Passages South" also at Amazon.com (covers from Florida to the Virgin Islands), Cruising Guide to the Virgin Islands, Cruising Guide to the Leeward Islands,

Dear Forthman,

Thanks so much for the added information. It''s really difficult to purchase guides on line sight unseen (and pricey!), so your input is greatly appreciated.

Also, make sure that you have the latest charts for the Bahamas and other areas. Your 7.5'' draft will have to be watched closely over there.

Once you get to the Leeward and Winward islands, Chris Doyles cruising Guides are the best. We have been using them for 10 years and never had to use our charts!

Thank you for the info. You''re the second one to recommend the Doyles''. We''ll be putting Athena in the water in a few weeks, can''t wait to get sailing again!
