Horror Trip

I've not seen this mentioned even thought it dates back to mid last month. If I'm repeating something, my aoplogies, but if not have a read of this.

Gripping Account Of S/v Aquarelle While Crossing To Australia From Nz - Cruiserlog's Sailing Forums and Free Cruising Crewfinder

Major freak out for Wombat cos if we do decide to buy new boat in NZ this is the stretch of water we have to cross to get home. The Tasman Sea has a very nasty reputation for dishing out this kind of nastiness. I does seem a tad strange that they set out when winds in excess of 30kts were predicted but maybe they didn't realise how ugly a sea can be whipped up in the Tasman.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
