Southern Fl Gulf marinas

Will need a marina in Sarasota (where family is) or somewhere within 1-2 or maybe 3 hours from there to dock our boat while we outfit and work on it. Will be living aboard, as always on a tight budget, so looking for a reasonable place. What is the typical waiting list time? Very concerned about safety also. Any input would be appreciated.

How big is your boat? I''m in St. Pete and most marinas here are about $5 to $7 per ft. Except liveaboards then it''s quite abit more. Although, I keep my boat in a small family owned marina and it is the least expensive spot in town. Only problem is if you draw more than 6'' then you have to wait for high tide to get out. It is located at the southern most tip of the city, right next to causeway to the Skyway bridge. Easy access to the gulf. It''s called Oneills Marina. Now the liveaboard rate I''m not sure of but I can find out. I know that the city''s marina has liveaboards but they are not letting anymore in. There are more, Tierra Verde, Very $$$, Passa- Grill also$$$.
