Cruising With Centerboard

I recently purchased a 1971 Irwin 28 with a centerboard. Restoration is going smoothly, but lately I''ve been wondering about limitations for this type of boat. For instance, could I sail this boat to the Caribbean? Or would this boat be better suited for the Chesapeake?

I am of the opinon you can sail any boat any time any where you want. A centerboard is ideal for the caribbean. Your boat is probally more set up for coastal work than offshore but the mods for bluewater are easily done. If you took the icw route to caribbean you can probally go like you are now.
