Place this immediately in the bulging folder labelled questions I really should not have asked, but what manner of inefficiency makes a gas can eligible for apporoval in the state of California?
Does it recover VOC's from the atmosphere, so you pour out more gas than you put in? Does it have an automatic spill sensor that immediately notifies the USCG, Fish & Wildlife, EPA, and Maxine Waters when
fuel is spilled? Is it one of those legislative triumphs where you can get the gas in, but not out, yet you receive no tax break for becoming part of the strategic petroleum reserve? Is it designed to be run over by a D-9 Cat dozer and not spill a drop? Does it qualify as a direct replacement for the Ford Pinto gas tank? Or is it basically the same gas can as the rest of us use, but certified by the Golden State, and thus costs twice as much?
If you want to forget I asked this question, it would be ok with me. If you want to forget to answer this question because you live in California and your therapist advises you to avoid meaningless controversies, I'll understand. If you're a member of the California Assembly, please do not answer the question under any circumstances. But, if you've just sort of brushed up against the inanity of the Californian regulatory machine, and emerged unscathed, I'd be curious as to what fresh hell is this.
