when oppertunities arise
I'm posting this on the cruising site as thats what were doing but it does cover a few other areas.
I've always said that when life gives you lemons, you make lemonaid.
Well its happened again, We have the boat ready, money is in the bank and we were waiting for a doctors release on an injury I had, so we could injoy the winter sun of the Mexican waters.. We've planned on a five year trip around the world, with extended stops in the land of OZ and South Africa.
I was just informed that I'll be sticking around for another 6 months or so, waiting for this doctors release.. (such are the lemons)
But yesterday, the wife and I had the pleasure of visiting the "Spaulding Wooden Boat Center" in Sausalido, in the San Francisco Bay area. after spending a couple of hours with Mark Welther, the Executive Director, We've decided to join the center for the next 6 months, assisting in the workings, and operations of the center.. The center is an active boat yard along with the The non-profit in the Preservation of wooden boats and recently have made room for the ARQUES SCHOOL OF WOODEN BOAT BUILDING..
Even though I sail, cruise, and live aboard a fiberglass boat
(A FIRST-42) I've always been amased at the way wooden boats are designed and built..
So we're only moving our boat a hundred miles or so.. But this is one more saga in my life to add to my cruising stories and life aboard..
I'll make a point to keep those here, updated on the goings on at the center....
