going to canada from the us this summer - have read about fairly tight restrictions on tobacco and alcohol. does anyone have experience with this in regard to how strict they are on limitations? one carton of cigs and a case of beer is what they say on the website - we''re going to be there for 3+ weeks and darn, that just doesn''t seem like much. looking for any advice from people who have gone through the process there. thanks!

It has been awhile since I was there but they are only ''strict'' if you are boarded and searched. If you have more than the limits, you will be fined. It is safer to ante up the Canadian bucks to buy stuff there. Another concern, though, is the restrictions from the U.S. INS on re-entry. From what I understand, you''ll want to make sure you have the I-68s for everyone aboard.
