Our first mini crusie of the year

Memorial Day weekend 2008, our first mini cruise of the year.

We headed out Friday late, to Swan Creek just North of Rock Hall, a creek we visit often.



Saturday we headed south to Eastern Bay around Kent Island and headed North to the the Wye River. We ended up dropping the hook in Dividing Creek





We arrived there around noon, so we were able to get a good spot and enjoyed the amazing weather. The girls enjoyed playing in the water and our exploration of the area by dingy.

Sunday we made a short sail to St Michaels. We got a spot in front of the Inn at Perry's Cabin and took the dingy into town for some lunch and ice cream. We stopped to visit one of my chef friend's, Chef Rork of the Town Dock Restaurant and enjoyed his great cooking while admiring all the beautiful boats in the harbor.

The sail back Sunday from St Mic's to the marina was a awesome way to start the season. (even if a little late in the year ) We had 10-15 most of the way and enjoyed a very comfortable beam reach most of the way.

Cant wait for the next one, unfortunately we cant get out until our Sailnet rendezvous on the 14th...cant wait!!!!!

Great Pictures. We were back in our slip (D-13) by 4:30. We did switch slips this year as we are looking for a larger boat (42-48 range) and when the right one comes along in the next few years we wanted a slip with deeper water and slips are done by seniority here. Looks like the girls had a great time....

As far as beating us across the bay. Haha I am sure you did (maybe) You did make record time through the narrows way. Last October we left Town Dock at St Micheals at 8 AM took the long way around Bloody Point and caught a 30 knot broad reach and made our slip by 5:30. A once in a 10 year sail.

We've finally had some good weather lately and have enjoyed some good cruising, sailing without foulies for a change..

Thanks all for the comments, fortunately for the kids, they look more like their mother .

They really enjoy sailing and boating, in fact Elizabeth cried when we left the boat on Monday...now if that doesn't melt a daddy's heart I don't know what would.

It only took me, errggg, almost two years to open a photbucket account and learn how to post pictures here, so be prepared for many more

Good stuff Chef! Reminds me of our girls (3 & 5) on our boat, though were missing your additional 12 feet.

Keep sharing the cruising stories/pictorials...I love reading about the itineraries, meeting the crews and seeing pictures of new places.

Sunday was a nice sail from the Rhode the night before and to the Wye Sunday night. Monday morning found us in 20-25 knts from the southeast leaving Eastern Bay and running home to Naptown.
Great Great weekend!
