Chesapeake Bay

An amazing voyage - started in April 2008 in Hilton Head Island, SC and sailing up north to the Chesapeake Bay and back. At the moment close to Baltimore. Very detailed tripjournal with cool stories and lots of fotos.

Follow Cool Breeze on their trip:

There should be a service for sailors - which shows you the "well known" sailors on your garmin map. and maybe for some even a warning...

Hmmm...I hope XM is paying attention. They could add this as a value added feature to their sat weather offerings.

They could call it AFOC tracking! Imagine never having to worry about sailing into an AFOC again. Simple icons on your GPS show the location of AFOC's so they can easily be avoided....Brilliant!!!!

all your friends from the sailing community show up as a green "meet me" icon and all from your ignore-list as a red "don't come closer than 5 miles" icon!

can't be that difficult to build a map layer like that......

Damn! I was just on Hilton Head for a wedding. Wish I'd known, I'd have bought him a beer!
