Best Crusing Guide for Fla?

Hi there,

I have a 26'' trailer sailboat and would like some recommendations for crusing guides for fla keys, west coast, ICW.

any charts I should need.

Is it better to buy the chart books, or the individual charts?

thanks a bunch

For the keys try Capt. Frank Papy''s cruising guide. Been around for years and recently updated I hear.

We use chartbooks rather than individual charts. We like the convenience of having the book in the cockpit (we have a plastic sleeve it goes in to keep it dry!).

For the ICW, I am a big big fan of the ChartTracker books. They are straightforward representations of the Ditch that are easy to read at a glance and give lots of anchorage and hazard info.

We are fans of Claiborne Young''s Florida Cruising Guide books. There are different books for different parts of the coast. Lots of very useful info. He also has a chart book that goes with his books, but we have not used those.
