Engine mounts

Hello all
My CS 36T has a Westerbeke W33 engine with a Velvet Drive series 1000 transmission and a Walter V Drive. I replaced the engine mounts because they were hard and the front engine mount was broken. What I think is unusual is that I have 5 engine mounts. One at the front, two at the rear of the engine and another two on flanges mounted to the V drive. Is this normal? 5 mounts make it difficult to align the engine. Do I need to two additional mounts?

Thank you for you help.

Re: Engine mounts

Our Onan has only three. The Perkins has two on the engine and two on the Borg Warner transmission.
If I remember correctly, you must align the V drive to the shaft first and then the engine to the V drive. There shouldn't be any problem as they are two separate operations.
