When did CS introduce tall rig?

We're looking at a 1981 CS 36, and found the following in a Sail Magazine review (it's the only place we have seen it):

"Also, early Traditional 36s had shorter spars imported from England. Unless you are planning some high-latitude sailing, look for a boat with the taller rig."

Does anyknow when CS introduced the tall rig? Was the 1981 CS 36 a tall rig, or was it introduced later?

I personally thought all the CS 36Ts had the same rig...Maine Sail?

The magazines often get stuff wrong. Sail did on this one. The Proctor spar and the Isomat spar were the same height. There is no tall rig 36T.. These are tall rigs though despite not using the "tall rig" moniker. Last spring I was at a dock next to a Catalina 36 tall rig and exceeded it by quite a lot.....

Another area where they royally "F" up is the tankage. All CS-36T's are in IMPERIAL GALLONS. This means these boats carry a lot more water, fuel and poop than what the mags printed.. I don't think there is a single review out there that states the actual US gallon capacity correctly. Just convert US GAL to Imperial. We always wondered why we could not run out of water.......
