Re: CS 40 Windlass
How did they mount windlass on access panel, what type did they put on, is it wired to the eng battery? Has windlass made it better to anchor do you have a remote switch to operate windlass
Cheers Colin

Re: CS 40 Windlass
They mounted a simpson lawrence horizontal in the aft part of the anchor locker. I'll have to look tomorrow what they mounted it on. i'll get a picture. It is connected to the house bank. We have 300' of 3/8ths chain and a 45lb cqr. I hauled it in once by hand once. Not fun. We anchor most of the time. Well worth the investment.

Re: CS 40 Windlass
My 36T came with an elec. windlass. Motor taker up part of the cabinet at the foot of the vee berth. At survey, I was told the run from the main panel was too far to meet current regs. So had a secondary breaker installed on wall by setee.

Re: CS 40 Windlass

Re: CS 40 Windlass
The windlass has a vertical capstan, and is mounted flush to the deck immediately aft of the chain locker. This puts the motor hanging down below the deck inside the cabinet a tithe foot of the vee berth. The motor is then wired from there to a breaker at the main panel. Except then a second breaker was installed in the middle of that run.

Re: CS 40 Windlass
I forgot to get some pictures last weekend. The windlass is mounted in a fiberglass box that is attached to the upper aft bulkhead in the anchor locker. We have to open the locker to drop or haul in the chain. I will get some pictures this weekend but we are leaving for 3 weeks and won't be able to send them til we are back.
