CS 33 survey

I'm in the process of buying a 1982 CS 33. The survey is tomorrow. Anything special I should be looking out for.

CS 33 survey

Not sure about the 33 but my CS30 had cockpit hoses that were in very sad shape after being missed by a well respected surveyor. I know another CS30 owner that on their maiden voyage on their new to them boat the hoses were leaking quite badly into the bilge. Same surveyor.

Funny you should say that. I just got back from the survey and that was the only thing he said I should replace as the hoses are cracked. I see why they get ignored, they look hard to access. How did you change yours? Other than that the boat is in great shape.

On my 30 the port side hose is easy, the starboard side requires getting around the rudder post. I made sure i had my phone with me back there because there is a good chance you could get stuck.

Well we have much in common - I just took over a CS33, set for launch in May. Replacing cockpit drain gate valves and hoses, amongst other things original.

My CS30 has an access hatch at the foot of the quarter berth cant say right now if that would help gain access to that hose, or if the hatch came with the boat new but its nice to have. Removing the Propane locker under the helm would access that area some too. I have to admit with that reverse transom there's LOTS of space I cant figure how to use. I wouldn't want anything interfering with the rudder operation so it will probably always be an open cavern.
