Tell me about your favorite marina restaurant
Have you found a great place to eat at your favorite destination marina. Please reply and tell me about your experience. I'm working on a blog site that I hope to build into a place the sailing community can check for recommendations or add their opinion to an existing post. I will post the site address when it's more complete

Beaufort, N.C. has an INCREDIBLE restaurant called Fish Tales, at Town Creek Marina. We're working on our sailboat and haven't put it in the water yet, but when we bring it to the coast, that's the first thing I want to do - sail into that marina, eat at Fish Tales and sleep on the boat there. Our family has a place down in Atlantic Beach, so we go several times a year, and Fish Tales is officially my favorite place.

Does it have to be at the marina or can it be in very close walking distance? If so, Trattoria Simpatico in Jamestown RI. Grab a mooring ball at Conanicut Marina, it is 100 yards from the marina. Dress is nice but casual. Food is outrageous. Mostly outdoor seating under tents, indoor available.

edit: we love Tricias across the street as well. Tiki bar in the back, even more casual. It is more a "come as you are" place. Limited menu, but generally good. Nachos are the best in RI. Get the scallops salsilito if you are there for dinner! Say hello to Jeff the bartender. He was on the cover of Sep 2010 Bluewater Sailing Mag.

Definately within walking distance as well
Thanks for the post, and yes I would include anything well worth a short walk and any place so good you don't mind a long walk. Like they say in the south "That Shrimp Po'Boy was slap yo mama good". If its accessible from the boat I'll include it.

Thanks again.

Andria's Seafood in Ventura, CA. They have the best Fish and Chips I have ever had. The fish is local caught shark. They give you four or five large pieces. The chips are good. They have other types of broiled and fried fish but their best is the Fish and Chips. There is always a line outside.

Croatia, Pasman Island Soline cove. Yes, thatīs that ruined shack. I am a man of simple tastes, but the fish, a 2.5kg sea-bass was fresh and delightful and the view was beautiful, the wine was good and the boat stayed for the night on a restaurant mooring (buoy).

Desolation Sound, BC, Canada:

Also not at a marina, but in Okeover Inlet in Desolation sound near the Park and government dock is the "Laughing Oyster" - highly recommended.
