eastern seaboard to europe

Hello All I am looking for one of two things. 1, A sailboat to sail across the Atlantic or 2, to be a crew member to go across with someone. I'm planning on leaving in march.

So don't you think a little backgound would help? Maybe a statement or two about yourself. Give us a clue.......Dale

Well lets see what would you like to know? If you look at my introduction it gives some info. I have been sailing for 25 years I used to crew for my dad as a child and he has taken the South Coast 21 national title 5 or 6 times in the 80's and 90's. I have sailed supervised as a child in the pacific near Hawaii.

Isn't that a far cry from sailing a large boat to Europe, Can you navigate? If you don't have your own boat , do you have supplies? Even if you get a boat would you know if it would be seaworthy.....Dale

well the largest boat I have ever personally captained was a hobbie 54. I can navigate anywhere land or sea as long as I have a compass or a general Idea of the directions n,s,e,w. As far as being bale to tell if its sea worthy thats a diffrent story. I can can do a basic run over and tell but it would be hard for me to tell if there is a hard to see problem. But as far as mechanically sound yes I could tell.
