I have a 1984 C&C with 3HMF Yanmar. The engine is in need of replacement. I would like to know what is available and the cost. It appears that the 3YM30 is available from Yanmar. I have also heard that there may be a Kubota system. Since I am replacing the engine, I will also replace the transmission. I intend to rebuild the Yanmar, any thoughts on that would also be appreciated. Thanks RO'B

Universal, Beta and Phasor diesels are all Japanese Kubota diesels that have been "marinized". All will have engines in the power range you need. I would guess the engine alone (without installation) will be in the vicinity of $8000.
