ZF Hurth or Twin Disc transmission

Crew
I am repowering my Roberts 36, most likely with a marinised Kubota V2203, and have the option of either a ZF Hurth HBW150 or Twin Disc MG360 transmission. Do you have an opinion either way? I have heard that Hurth, now made in Italy, may not be the machine they used to be, but I would really appreciate current experience either way. Thanks. Bill

When I repowered with a Beta, the US Beta rep pretty strongly recommended the Twin Disc over the Hurth, as they had been having some problems with the Hurths. No problems after 500 hours on the Twin Disc, but that's barely breaking it in.
