Yanmar vs. Volvo

I currently have a Volvo 78hp (tmd22p) with some electrical damage. OK, a lot of electrical damage. From a lightning strike. I am considering replacing the Volvo 78hp with a Yanmar 110hp (4JH4), which is about the same size and weight. If you ignore the costs, which engine is better, and why?

It would be Yanmar for me. You can do a search on any forum about Vovo's to find out why the Yanamar is preferred.

More specifics

For the Yanmar, much better dealer network, lower parts prices, and much easier to get parts. As far as reliability someone else besides me will have to answer that. But the Yanmars are virtually bullet proof. But the question that comes to mind is why. Electrical damage should have very little effect on the Volve, and a replacement and changeover would take some real serious bucks.

I suppose that has something to do with the Volvo parts prices. The price of an alternator, regulator, black box, engine control, engine instruments, and a couple of other items make it worth checking around, even though the engine itself is fine.
