Good suggestions regarding fuel starvation...i`ll just throw out a longshot,some engines will have an electric fuel cutoff switch instead of a manual shut off that will stop working intermittently before they go totally bad.

Sorry. the Yanmar YSE8 does not have one - it's all manual. I have the same engine in my CS27.
