1 gm 10 water pump

I have removed the water pump from my ten year old 1 gm 10. The ujit was leaking and the leak would increase as the RPMs were ramped up. There is a slot in the unit which I assume is for the sea water to escape. The lower bolt rusted out but came out with Blaster and a small vise grip. Has anyone had this problem? How is it repaired. I have a new impeller and the kit came with gaskets bit I can't figure where they seat. Thanks for any input.
