Perkins / Westerbeke 4-107 vs. 4-108 Parts?

Greetings all:

I can find plenty of reference for 4-108 parts manuals, but even Trans Atlantic Diesels can't provide me with a parts manual for a 4-107. I know that the pistons and liners (and heads, I think) are different between the two engines, but how many parts are interchangeable between the 4-107 and 4-108??

I have a 1964 parts manual, but we all know that those part numbers are all wayyy out of date. Any suggestions??? Thanks.

I don't think there is anything interchangable betwee these two. It's possible the crank and rods are, and the transmission bolt pattern is identical. But everything above the block is different, as are the pistons and liners. If you need, there is a friend of mine who has some 4-107 parts for sale. All the top end stuff is good, and from a low time engine. Block and crank are trashed. She is zeehag, and I think posts up on here sometimes, but is a regular on Sea Knots, and Latts and Atts. Is also possible she has a manual.

She also posts on cruisers forum.BTW do ot think 107 has liners.What is wrong with 107.

Thanks for the lead - will try to check it out. BTW - the 4-107 does have wet liners (the jacket water touches the outside of the liners) with o-rings to seal them.

I have the 4-108 and I think I read that it has dry liners. The reason I was interested is that apparently it's best to use the heavy duty antifreeze(red) vs the green stuff if you have wet liners. At the time I did not know what liners I had and so I switched from the green to the red. Not really necessary now with dry liners, but since I'm not going to flush the system out again to switch back, I will keep with the red.
