Other than the minor complication of the vee drive transmission, the general guidance you find here and other places applies. If you change to a different make and model of engine you are looking at changing mounts and other issues. Going with a new or rebuilt engine of the same make and model will simplify things. You are looking at a pretty hefty engine, probably about 40 HP, so will need a forklift or small crane to get the old engine out and new one in. If someone else is doing all the work, expect to pay $5k to $10k in labor above the cost of the bare engine. If you can do some of the work yourself like removing the old engine and reconnecting systems on the new one, you can greatly reduce the labor cost.
