My only concern about the anti-sieze is the potential for electrically isolating the plug from the rest of the engine block, which would defeat the purpose of the zinc. But you probably still have some metal-to-metal contact, so hopefully it's a non-issue.

A bit of advise to those changing engine zincs for the first time (or those having a really hard time getting the zinc mount bolt off). Always USE a good metallic anti-seize when you screw back the zinc mount bolt. If not, the mount treads will likely corrode, gall-weld together in short time. Many DIY'ers learn this lesson the hard way. For most bolts, a good grease is fine, but for zincs the electrical conductivity between the plug and the engine block is crucial.

Most anti-seize contain graphite with metal of some form (usually copper) which maintains the electrical conductivity. For marine environments, use an anti-seize with nickel. You will pay about $3 more per 8oz can, but then again, an 8oz can will last the average owner a life-time. I prefer marine Never Seez but Peratex nickel anti-seize is just as good. I use it every where...

I did use a carbon based anti sieze on my zinc plugs (it is a marine type and suggested for use on spark plugs, so should not effect the conductivity needed).

I have read not to use the carbon base anti sieze on stainless steel or bronze, would the Never Seez or Peratex nickel be ok for my stainless standing rigging fittings (turnbuckels)?
Regards

I was planning to use some

Yes, the nickel based anti-seize is recommended for stainless steel. Take a look at the Never-Seez site for more info:

Thanks,
I will order some of the Marine Never Seez. Got a lot of boat "projects" it looks like I can use that stuff on.
Regards
