Questions on yanmar 3ym

Just did a complete check up on my new to me Yanmar 3ymf30
and I have some questions
1- No zincs on the engine ? Not even a little one?
2- 2 orange caps for oil filling ? which one to use ?
3- On transmission how do you check oil level? Screw the dipstick down or lay on top ? Fully fill transmission to the top or half way? Is there a mark on the dipstick?
4-What kind of fluid for transmission? 10w30 or gear lube?

Also I believe I have a solenoid problem If I turn the key to first position I have the loud beep but on second position....nothing, not even a click on the starter On third attempt then I hear the starter engage and engine starts easily NOt a serious problem Just getting used to try 3 times in a row I believe these are the symptoms of a defective solenoid but which one ? On the starter or the one located on top of transmission?

I realize it's a lot of questions and your help would be appreciated as usual

No manual for the engine? Assuming the 3YM is similar to the 3GM:

No zinc because of the materials used in the heat exchanger.
There is a dipstick attached to the transmission fill cap.
Transmission fluid is same oil as used in engine.

The start condition you describe is a common Yanmar issue. Long run of wiring from engine to panel results in excessive voltage drop. Fix is to add a relay in the circuit.

OP as you asked. you check the transmission fluid with an unscrewed cap. you remove it wipe it off and insert it without screwing it in. there is a mark on the dipstick. I also change the trans fluid at every oil change

Thanks for your answers especially on the dispstick questions Did not find a mark at first but will look closer!
I had the 3gm before and replaced by 3ym Smaller, lighter and a lot less noisy but the electric harness is really a cheap one ! I understand why their are no zincs but must say that the exhaust elbow is rusting very fast !

On my yanmar the mark on the dipstick is only a single line around it about 1/4 inch from the bottom.
Agree on the harness, I had to buy a new one, when it arrived it was untinned with cheap connectors. I should have built it my self

The type of oil tansmission needs should be indicated by a label on the tranmission. Be careful as some manuals call out for the wrong oil as different transmissions are fitted to the same engine. Therefore always go by the transmission name plate requirement.
