Universal 5411 Water Pump

I have the Sherwood pump 6 bolt front cover with the 2 bolt connection on my Universal 5411.

I have read that with the Sherwood being obsolete the Oberdorfer 202M7 is the replacement.

Is it a direct fit or do I need some type of a adapter kit.

Time for an upgrade maybe?
If I were you I would call Don Moyer at Moyer Marine Inc as they supply a marine water pump that is a matched fit for the Oberdorfer pumps but requires no grease cap fitting as it works on bearings. Just installed one on my Atomic 4 gas engine.
Don't get upset! The water pumps on gas and Universal diesel engines are often the same mechanism. The Atomic 4 is also a Universal engine after all.
Don is a great guy and provides an unusual amount of service that most companies today do not provide. Call them.
