Volvo D2-40 fuel filter
I don't know if this has been addressed previously but I have a 2007 Volvo D2-40 diesel and cannot replace the fuel filter. It seems that Volvo discontinued the filter for the engine and gave to same part number to a larger filter that doesn't fit in the space between the mounting bracket and the sensor mounted in the bell housing below it. Authorized repair tells me I need to mount a new bracket. Volvo says it is not covered under my extended warrenty because part hasn't failed. A service guy I spoke with said you might be able to get clearence by loosening mounting bolts and moving bracket and if that doesn't work you "may" be able to add a couple washers underneath to raise the thing. Has anyone had any experience with this, any help would be appreciated. After over a 1/2 hour on hold and talking with Volvo consumer relations the only thing they could offer was an address to send a complaint to.
Does anyone know of a service bulletin on it?
Thanks,
SoC
