My new to me 37 year old volvo won't shift into reverse. I have the RB transmission. I can shift into forward, but reverse only works while I'm pushing hard on the shifter. If I let up its back in nuetral. any help or advice is greatly appreciated. thanks

Try checking and adjusting the linkage if you have the cable type...I ended up having to take my linkage in about 4 turns on the adjusting nut as the cable had stretched...I have a Newport 30, vintage 78...Ed
