OK, fair enough.
The boat's a 1985 Vagabond 39.
The original tanks were/are steel encapsulated in a layer of glass -- long sad story, but the port side tank finally succumbed to water trapped between the glass and the steel. If you want gory details, there's a long post over on AS including pictures.
The boat's a little south of Annapolis, so east coast fabricators are preferred.
These are twin tanks (port and starboard), each nominally about 55 gal. They're not square or rectangular, but a modified wedge.
I guess what I'm asking for is some help in identifying a shop that has a proven track record in making good tanks. Any monkey with a MIG or TIG set can weld aluminum, but I'm looking for quality results with an assurance that proper materials are used and designs followed. I'm a little leery of taking company internet home page info at face value, so feedback from those with experience will be invaluable.
