Question Castrol 'Assuron' oil

Looking for a source of Castrol 'Assuron' SAE 30..this is truck diesel oil that is not commonly found in your local Walmart, KMart, Pep Boys, NAPA stores..I've even called some local truck service locations..no luck. I've called Castrol in NY which referred me to a their main distributor here in Pa. which unfortunately I would have to buy in large quantities.

Someone will ask..why Castrol?..'cause that what's my re-builder of my engine is using and is still under warranty and don't want any excuses if there is an issue..

Anyone in E.Pa. know of a dealer/re seller that has this particular product in stock I would greatly appreciate.

talk to your engine guy and get a few gallons, or the name of where it gets it from....or have him give you an acceptable replacement.

If he is actually the rebuilder, he may be using this as break in oil, and you may be able to switch to a regular oil once the break in has been made. It may be that he does not want you to use a "multi" oil, at all.

It is a single grade oil, been around for a long time, and does NOT meet current diesel requirements for mulitgrade/multivis...be careful using it in other equipment, if you do buy a bunch somewhere

All the best
