Filling Universal 5424 with oil

I'm pretty clear on how to get the old oil out, I have a pump with a tube that goes down the dipstick. But how to get the new oil in? I can see the filler but it's hard to reach.

There is a 2 ft long tube attached to the top of the engine. It isn't connected to anything at either end. Is this intended to be used for filling the engine? How does it attach to the engine and the oil bottle?

Should be a filler cap on the top of the valve cover. Just like an auto. That's where is was on the 5411 on my previous boat.

Y'up...and then use an "oil change pump" or some similar contraption to put the new oil
in.

I ended up using one of these to drain the oil, worked well once I figured out to warm the oil up. It would have taken all day with cold oil.

The pipe attached to the top of the engine was the breather.

The access to the oil filter is horrible. That was the hardest part, getting the old filter off. Good thing I've got long arms!

Sitting here at work feeling like I've been boxing. Several band-aids on fingers and bruises on my hands. But I won in the end.
