Parting Out Volvo MD7A

It ran amazingly well on mostly one cylinder. Smoked like hell though! Bad blow by on one cylinder- could not find oversized pistons so now its parts: Head, injectors, starter, Fuel Inj Pump, transmission, etc... What a cool old beast of a 14 HP engine.

Hey Stuart. You don't happen to have the original alternator do you? I need the pulley off one. If you have the original sev marchal pulley, it should have a 5" diameter, or so, pulley on it.

Too bad, but at least you can make some money back in the parts. I'm not in need right now but from seller to seller thought I would mention a site, PartingOut.com, that makes it easy to part out whole cars, motors, or individual parts. So if you don't sell them all here (hope you do) I'd check it out - its free and buyers list parts, so you dont have to price etc, the offers just come to you (and their qualified -- no bs messages etc). HD,

Yes, I got around to checking and it's a 5.5" O.D. pulley wheel on an old Marchal alternator. looks like a 5' belt fit. If you want it, I'll see if it pulls off easily and let me know a zip for shipping and maybe cover that plus $10 if that sounds fair...

Dear Stuart,

I have completely rebuilt an old Volvo MD7A, & repaired mainfold corrosion holes with liquid metal and steel net re-inforcing, but I would feel safer with a exhaist manifold in good condition.....Are you selling yours and how does it look?

I don't need it but not sure about condition. Previous owner had overheating problems i think and pulled out the thermostat so galleries may be pretty plugged (and look pretty corroded). I can take a picture if you're still interested...

Dear Stuart,

I am interested in the manifold in any condition, as I know how to remove the internal clogs & blockages. The problem is with the water main entrance hole at the bottom of the manifold. The channel between this entrance and the inner manifold volume is very small and easily blocked. You have to drill out two of the tapped holes holding the exhaust elbow flange and then drill a special hole in the body from which the blocking material is removed. This extra hole is then plugged with a screw, after tapping it. Pse tell me cost of manifold and from where you would be shipping. Thank you. Gianfranco
