Teleflex MV2 throttle control upgrade

My boat has a side mount Teleflex MV2 side mount control that keeps slipping out of its throttle setting, i.e. when I have it at 80% throttle it gradually slips back towards idle.

My marina says it's a bare-bones unit and not adjustable, and that I may want to do an upgrade this winter for better performance. Any ideas?

There's the Spinlock ATCU, but I'm not sure it'll address the problem, and a number of other Teleflex products like the SL-3 that looks like - and is priced like - better quality, but who knows.

Anyone with experience with upgrades, or high qualilty side-mount single operation throttle controls?

Re: Teleflex MV2 throttle control upgrade

Why not just put a cable brake on the throttle cable??

Re: Teleflex MV2 throttle control upgrade

Right, that's the simplest and cheapest option.
