Oil Filter Yanmar 2qm20

Has anyone used any brand of oil filter besides the Yanmar brand filter for a 2QM20? And if so what kinds? Anything wrong wrong with the NAPA Gold 1563?
Thanks.

Re: Oil Filter Yanmar 2qm20

I've been using Fram filters on my 3GM30F with no issues. Previous owners had been using them for many years. Once went to NAPA and they gave me their GOLD equivalent. Case was slightly larger and was a pain to get in and out. Went back to FRAM.

Re: Oil Filter Yanmar 2qm20

Some filters may have varying relief valves which may effect oil pressure. Suggest carefully monitoring your pressure after installing a non-Yanmar filter.

If cost is a factor in using other than a Yanmar filter the incremental difference may not be that much and you may not use that many of them in a season.
