Fuel pump died

My fuel pump died over the winter and I'm looking for a alternative if possible.

I currently have this facet pump.

What are my options?

Re: Fuel pump died

they have an internal strainer, did you know? I'd replace it with the same. or the "cube" by Facet. which I have (and a spare)

Re: Fuel pump died

There is an external strainer before the pump and then of course a fuel filter on the engine.

But there is also the internal filter.

Replacing A Facet Fuel Pump Filter

Are you using a 2 micron primary filter? If so that can play a role in an early demise...

Re: Fuel pump died

I have not taken it apart. It gets warm when I tested it, but does not pump. It worked fine prior to winter, now it does not.

Re: Fuel pump died

I may go with a $50 cube as opposed to this $100 part.

Re: Fuel pump died

I pulled the strainer out and it was clogged thick... I bet the pump burned due to it. When you turned on the ignition previously you could hear the pump working. Now it does nothing.

I valuable lesson learned...

Re: Fuel pump died

pop down to a local parts shop and pickup a fuel pump for a 1995 GMC diesel. Cheap, and lasts about forever.
