What should be the compression values of the Yanmar 3GM30F?

I dont have the book with me But I think it was in the 425-485 psi range.

That derelict boat was another dream for somebody else, don't let it be your nightmare and a waste of your life.

Had values of 300, 300 and 250..so I quess those are considered low. Sounds like time for a a refit...Arrrrggggg

I have that engine. compression is supposed to be between 390 and 470. You sound low. Also one of them is significantly lower than the other two. Is your valve clearance what its supposed to be? (.2mm)

It also makes a differance on wether the engine is warm.

Five years ago my pre-purchase survey for the 1985 3GMF was #1-345, #2-320, #3-380. 320 was considered at the bottom of the range. The engine has run fine (knock on wood) since then. Oil tests come back good.

What page in the Service Manual can the compression values be found? Must be missing something..can't seem to find them...
