Foley Marine & Dr. Diesel STINK!!!

What an A/H! Whatever you do, DO NOT do business with Foley Engines. Google Foley Engines and Dr. Diesel if you want to get an idea of what to expect without going through the actual experience. You should also read the BBB report on him. Nothing but bad press. I recommend Torreson or Transatlantic Diesel if you need parts. I have had the misfortune of dealing with him. It's amazing that he is still in business with all the people he's pissed off.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Sorry you didn't search SN for where to get parts, huh? Hey SD, do you have a page with links to good vendors you like on your blog?

Re: Foley Marine & Dr. Diesel STINK!!!

Unfortunately I just purchased a "Perkins fuel system kit" from Foley Marine Engines to the tune of $2,539.95 including $195.00 overnight shipping to Port Canaveral, FL. I am supposed to get $700.00 of that back when he receives my core injection pump and 4 injectors. They certainly make you jump through hoops to get the core charge back too. We'll see how that goes.
I got the same gruff treatment from "Dr. Diesel" - maybe he should be called Dr. A hole! I will not do business with them again and I wish that I had read this forum first!

Re: Foley Marine & Dr. Diesel STINK!!!

Actually I should have said $195.00 shipping and handling. It was shipped UPS overnight but I am sure that a large part of that nearly $200.00 was "handling". Of course they never quoted me the shipping cost beforehand!
