Question hobbs meter

My boat came with one mounted to a piece of scrap wood. But, i have noticed that it only has one wire coming out of it. Anyone know where one would hook up the wires for monitoring engine time on a yanmar 2GMF 13hp diesel engine? I was perusing the maintenance manual, but that was something that is not mentioned in the manual.

Any advice for hookup would be helpful..
