Volvo 2002 injector

Having a problem with a wee bit of blow-by around one of the injectors. A mechanic said its not that big a deal and to just leave it. (hard to remove the injector)
Any thoughts or comments?

My opinion; I wouldn't hesitate to fix it no matter how small it seems to be. A little bit of blow by is normal past the piston and rings but anywhere else is unacceptable. Things can get ugly if you let it go to long.

Some injectors (and heads) are carbon sealed after running under load for a while. Has this been replaced recently?

blow by also has CO (carbon monoxide) which can kill you.

Thanks for the replies. Turns out it's not blow-by, but a cooling water leak. There is a copper tube inserted in the cylinder head between the outside and the combustion chamber. The injectors are inserted in these tubes. The leak is at the top, not sure how bad it is as I have just purchased the boat, and it's laid up for the winter. I guess you need special tools to fix this problem so it seems the best approach will be to remove the cylinder head and take it to a diesel repair shop. May be able to put up with it for a season if its a trickle. Anyone else have this problem?
