Perkins 4-107, Zincs and Zero Hours

Working on my trusty diesel today. Changed the oil, recorded that on the maintainence board. Surprised to see that the engine hours were the same as last year. I know I used the engine, so either the clock started running backward like in "Christine", or it just stopped. I mean to check the connections, any other input?
And the zincs. Contrary to popular opinion and general repair books, there seems to be no zinc in the heat exchanger. The Perkins manual doesn't show one. There is a zinc in the gearbox, first in line for raw water. There also is one in the exhaust water elbow. Is that enough? Any 4-107 owners got some directions for me?
