Looking for a Yanmar SB8 diesel

We recently purchased a 1977 Hunter 27, which has been sitting in the cradle for the past 3 years. It was too good of a deal to pass up. Started the engine about 2 weeks ago for the first time. Fired right up, idles nice, alternater charging, water pumping out of the exhaust, and out of the starter. Yep, out of the starter. Right where the starter bolts to the bell housing. Anyways, I haven't pulled it yet, but assume it will need a replacement block, so we would appreciate any tips on where to find a block or used one. This is the SB8 model, the vertical one, 8 HP, used in the late 70's. We live in northern Ohio between Cleveland and the islands of Lake Erie, in Lorain. I have talked to several Hunter dealers, Torresens, and posted on Craigs list. No luck so far. I was told a Yanmar 1GM10 would be an easy swap or maybe go to electric.
Let me know.
Thanks in advance, Dave

Dude, your 3-cyl 26 HP M25xpb is not the solution to every engine problem! This guy's got a 1cyl 8HP and thinking about similar.
