Monel is probably the best material, but it isn't much of an option on a limited budget. Plastic tanks seem to work pretty well (I have one), but can get a bit pricey if you need a custom shape. I've heard good things about stitch and glue plywood/epoxy tanks. You can make them just about any shape and they are probably the cheapest option, if you're willing to spend the time and effort (and willing to get a bit messy).
Never forget them. Do something to prevent it from happening again.
