Perkins Mechanic in VA

Hey all,
My boat is in Virginia near Portsmouth. I am looking for a good mechanic and someone who sells old Perkins parts. Let me know if you know of anyone. I heard there is a guy in York but no one seems to have his number.

Re: Perkins Mechanic in VA

Transatlantic Diesel is fairly close to you (they are a little north of Newport News in Hayes, VA.) They are one of the most recommended sources for Perkins parts and info in the eastern US. If you need it, chances are very good that Sheri has it on hand. They also have a good selection of used parts, which may suit your needs.

You might give Atlantic Yacht Basin (in Chesapeake at the Great Bridge) a call. While they do not advertise as a Perkins distributor, I was able to find Perkins branded parts there a few years back when we were coming up the ditch.

Perkins USA lists Bay Diesel (also in Chesapeake) as a potential source -- I've never done business with them, but it may be a lead for you.

No clue -- but wish you luck.

All the best,
