Regarding the theft itself, always
file a police report.
Whether your local LEO's are adequately staffed or (more likely) understaffed, their patrols are assigned based at least in part on numbers of Reported Crimes.
(No reports = no crime = no/few resources allotted.)
So, while "minor" property crimes have a lower priority, they do
*Sidebar: it's always seemed the height of absurdity to me that in my area most every house has alarm monitoring @ about $30./month, so that a call center located about 1500 miles away can try to summon a local LEO for a break-in.... and the majority votes against fully funding the local police presence. (sigh...)
Multiply that by every 100 houses and then by hundreds of neighborhoods. But all we hear about in the press is how property taxes are "too high."
Human nature is funny, isn't it?
Speaking of injectors, when I needed mine rebuilt, a local company that does all truck work did the job -- they said that there are actually only a few brands of injectors to service and that my Universal/Kubota ones were not unusual at all.
